Colusa County appoints Michael Wasilchin as new director of human resources

Colusa County announced on April 7 the appointment of Michael “Mike” Wasilchin as its new Director of Human Resources, with his official start date set for April 27.

Wasilchin brings over two decades of experience in public sector human resources, including thirteen years in leadership roles. He currently works as the Health and Human Services Human Resources Manager for Yolo County, where he has led projects focused on workforce development and organizational effectiveness.

His selection follows a competitive recruitment process that involved multiple interview panels made up of subject-matter experts, executive leadership, and key county stakeholders. According to Colusa County Administrative Officer Joshua Pack, “Mike’s selection reflects a very deliberate and thorough process to identify the right leader for this critical role. His expertise, leadership experience, and practical approach to human resources will strengthen our organization and support our employees in meaningful ways. We are excited to welcome Mike to Colusa County and look forward to the impact he will make.”
