Colusa County Transit provides free rides to ballot drop-off sites on Election Day

Colusa County Transit will offer free rides on Election Day, November 4, 2025, to help residents reach ballot drop-off locations. The transit service is providing complimentary transportation from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. as part of a “Free Fare Day” funded independently.

According to Colusa County Transit, “This initiative is paid for through an independent ‘Free Fare Day’ fund, and supports community access to voting by ensuring transportation is available from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Election Day at no cost.”

The upcoming election is an all-mail ballot event. Voters can return their ballots by mail or deliver them in person at several designated locations in Colusa County by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day. These include the Elections Office at 546 Jay St., Colusa; a satellite site at Education Village, 499 Margurite St., Williams; and a drive-through drop box behind the Colusa Police Department at 260 6th St., Colusa. Ballots may also be dropped off at any official location statewide.

Transit drivers will not be permitted to handle ballots during this service.

Colusa County Transit operates dial-a-ride services with fixed routes that cover multiple communities such as Colusa, Williams, Arbuckle, Maxwell, Princeton, Grimes, Sites, and Stonyford.
