Sacramento State wins 7-4 over Kansas with strong pitching from Ethan Lay

On Wednesday, March 25, at 3 p.m., Sacramento State Hornets, including former Colusa High School standout Ethan Lay, defeated the Kansas Jayhawks 7-4 in an NCAA Division I baseball matchup.

Hoglund Ballpark hosted the contest, marking the teams’ second meeting of the season. The Hornets previously fell to the Jayhawks 11-1 during their game on Tuesday, March 24.

Lay was effective on the mound, giving up one earned run in four innings, allowing one walk, and striking out seven batters.

The Hornets head to Charles Schwab Field Omaha for their next game on Friday, March 27, where they will face the Creighton Bluejays.
