Cedar Lane Elementary School issued the following announcement.
Attached (below) are tips on how to slow the transmission of COVID-19 during the Thanksgiving season. As you know, at MJUSD, we have experienced several positive cases
over the past week. Overwhelmingly, the direct cause of our positive cases derive from attendance at large gatherings outside of school. As the cold weather arrives and
Thanksgiving approaches, the Yuba County Public Health Department, through the following message, wants to remind us there are things we can each do to enjoy time with our
loved ones, while also slowing the spread of COVID-19.

With the holidays approaching, it’s up to each of us to do everything possible to keep COVID-19 from reaching our family members.
Most local cases stem from social gatherings such as parties, barbecues, etc. People get infected in these settings, and then they end up spreading the virus to others at home or
work — who then infect their own household members, and so on. It is a vicious cycle that can be stopped by practicing the tenets we all know:
Limit your interactions to one or two other households
Stay at least 6 feet from people who don’t live with you
Wearing a facial covering when shopping or visiting people who are not in your household
STAY HOME WHEN SICK
Wash your hands as much as possible
Thanksgiving is the next big celebration. State and local health officials encourage limiting the number of households you gather with and perhaps even engage in virtual
celebrations. However, we understand many will continue to host large traditional dinners. If that’s the case, there are things you can do in the two weeks leading up to the holiday
that will make this special time safer for everyone.
Starting this Thursday, Nov. 12, through Thanksgiving, be hyper-diligent in protecting yourself against infection – social distancing, wearing your facial covering, not attending social
gatherings, and working hard to not get sick. It is equally important to encourage those who are attending your Thanksgiving gathering to do the same. That way when you all get
together to celebrate, you will all feel safer.
