WILLIAM JESSUP UNIVERSITY ATHLETICS: Men’s Basketball Presses Pause Until After Christmas Break

Mens

William Jessup University Athletics issued the following announcement.

Following an exhibition Monday night at the University of Nevada, Jessup Men's Basketball has announced they will press pause on their season until after Christmas break.

The following games have officially been canceled: December 15 vs. The College of Idaho, December 16 vs. The College of Idaho, December 19 at Westmont College.

News of the game cancellations was made official Wednesday evening by Athletic Director and Head Men's Basketball Coach Lance Von Vogt due to precautionary measures with

the current COVID-19 pandemic.

An official statement from the team reads:

"We have been blessed to safely and responsibly compete in five games against great universities so far this season. At this point, it is in the best interest of our men's basketball

student-athletes to extend the Christmas break and monitor where COVID takes us as we enter into the spring semester and conference play. We look forward to getting back on

the court versus the University of Pacific on December 29 if all goes well."

The Warriors were scheduled to play their first official game of the season on Tuesday vs. The College of Idaho, having played five exhibition games this season. Tuesday was also

set to serve as Jessup's home opener for the 2020-21 season.

Currently, the Warriors are scheduled to return to play on December 29 for an exhibition at the University of the Pacific. Jessup's new home opener will be on January 9, when they

open GSAC play against San Diego Christian College.

As more schedule adjustments are announced, and public information is provided, jessupathletics.com will be providing all of the details.
