Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale) released a statement on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to a joint meeting of Congress.

“Prime Minister Netanyahu’s address to Congress today was a powerful message on the challenges and threats facing Israel and the free world. His unwavering leadership and commitment to Israel’s security is commendable, especially in the face of continued attacks at the hands of Hamas. The plight of the hostages, both American and Israeli, held by terrorists is a clear reminder of Hamas’ ongoing savagery. We must prioritize their swift return. The fact Iran has been the one financing this entire escalation should be lost on no one and I think Bibi made that clear to all who listened.

It was disappointing to see many of my Democratic colleagues, and Vice President Harris, choose to boycott this important address. At a time when unity and bipartisan support is crucial, it is disheartening that political divisions overshadow our collective commitment to stand with one of our closest allies, Israel. We must work together to ensure Iran’s ambitions are curtailed and that we continue to support Israel’s right to defend itself against all threats.”

Congressman Doug LaMalfa represents California's First Congressional District, including Butte, Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou and Tehama Counties.
