As winter approaches, cold weather poses additional challenges for families facing housing insecurity. For the 2024/2025 winter season, the Colusa County Department of Health and Human Services will operate a wintertime shelter in Williams to provide a safe and secure place for families and individuals.

The accommodations at the shelter include warm spaces designed to ensure comfort and relief from winter elements. It offers a family-friendly environment with private rooms and spaces for families of all sizes. Additionally, support services are available, including access to housing case managers, community resources, and linkage to services.

Those who can benefit from the shelter include families with children in need of temporary housing, families and individuals experiencing homelessness or those at risk of losing their housing, and anyone seeking warmth and stability during the winter months.

For more information or sheltering opportunities, individuals are encouraged to call (530) 458-0250 or visit the Colusa County Health and Human Services’ office located at 251 E. Webster St., Colusa, CA. Staff is available to assist with the intake process Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
