The Colusa County Board of Supervisors has announced changes in its leadership for 2025. Daurice Kalfsbeek Smith, representing District 2, has been appointed as the new Chair, while Jose Merced Corona from District 1 will serve as Vice-Chair. Smith takes over the role from outgoing Supervisor Gary J. Evans.
Both supervisors were sworn in at last week's meeting and have already begun their duties, which will continue throughout the year. In her new role, Chair Smith expressed her commitment to working with board members and the community on county issues.
“I am deeply honored to be chosen as Chair of the Board of Supervisors. I'm excited to work alongside my fellow board members and the community to address the challenges and opportunities facing our county,” said Chair Smith. “I'm committed to open communication, collaborative solutions, and a transparent process that puts the needs of our residents first.”
The Board of Supervisors regularly meets to discuss county matters, establish policies, and manage operations. These meetings are open to public participation. Additional information about the Board can be found at countyofcolusaca.gov.
