City of Clovis issued the following announcement.
Ground is broken and construction begins on two homes for local military veteran families at 4th Street & Sunnyside Avenue in Clovis.
The City of Clovis is proud to partner with Habitat for Humanity Greater Fresno Area in our joint effort to provide affordable homeownership by donating, and preparing the land.
This endeavor marks the second time the City has partnered with Habitat for Humanity in this neighborhood – last December two homes were dedicated just across the street from
this site.
The groundbreaking also has special meaning for Councilmember Jose Flores whose childhood home once stood where the two homes for local veterans will be built.
The process is underway to select military veterans or spouses of veterans for ownership of these new homes.
The construction of these two homes, marks Habitat for Humanity Greater Fresno Area’s 25th and 26th home in the City since 1985.
