Colusa County Transit has announced a "Free Fare Day" on Election Day, providing free rides to facilitate voter access to Colusa County's voting centers and ballot drop-box. This initiative is supported by an independent fund, ensuring transportation availability from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

The election, which is an all-mail ballot event, offers two vote centers and a drop-box for ballot returns. The Hall of Records Vote Center at 546 Jay Street in Colusa allows ballot drop-offs starting October 7th between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The Education Village Vote Center at 499 Marguerite Street in Williams will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. only on Election Day.

Additionally, there is a Ballot Drop-Box located at 260 6th Street in the alley next to the Colusa Police Station.

Passengers utilizing the transit service should note that drivers are not permitted to handle ballots or wait while passengers cast their votes. They can be dropped off to deposit their ballots but must call for a return ride if necessary.

Colusa County Transit's dial-a-ride system operates with fixed routes serving several areas including Colusa, Williams, Arbuckle, Maxwell, Princeton, Grimes, Sites, and Stonyford.

For more information on the Presidential General Election or to schedule an Election Day ride with Colusa County Transit, individuals can contact (530) 458-0BUS (0287).
