Congressman Doug LaMalfa has nominated 11 residents from the North State as candidates for the United States Service Academies. These academies, which include the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, require a Congressional nomination for admission.

“I want to congratulate our 11 outstanding service academy nominees for their hard work and dedication to serving our nation," said Rep. LaMalfa. "These young men and women represent the best of what our country has to offer, and I have no doubt they will excel as future leaders in our armed forces."

The nominees were selected by a committee composed of community leaders and veterans from various military branches in the North State region. The committee assessed each applicant's academic achievements and leadership skills before making their recommendations.

The students nominated by Congressman LaMalfa must now compete with other nominees nationwide for appointments to these prestigious academies. The appointment announcements are expected to begin in January.

Here is a list of Congressman LaMalfa’s nominees:

- Milee Bryant from Chico for the U.S. Naval Academy
